Insomnia and Baby McKenna!

I think it is pretty good I went into this pregnancy kind of naive about the whole thing. It's probably a good thing I didn't know it was going to be this HARD. Dont' get me wrong, I feel so blessed to be able to become a mom, but seriously, this hard?

Right now, my sleeplessness is kicking my butt big time. And I feel bad because I keep Jon up all night, too. I think it's the uncomfortableness of the third trimester paired with peeing every two hours that does me in. I literally will get up 4,5, or 6 times during the night to use the bathroom. It's ridiculous! I'm trying to train my mind to think of it as a blessing- it's God's way of preparing me to live off of less sleep. Ugh.
On a happier and more important note, I'm a proud aunt to baby McKenna who was born Saturday morning in GR!!!!! And she is such a doll! It always amazes me how you can even sense their little personalities HOURS after they are born. McKenna seems like such a little laid-back girl- she only cried when her swaddle came undone and just chilled for hours. It was really fun to see everyone, eat at Yesterdogs, watch Kaitlin for a bit at the mall, have dinner with my parents and Dave, and just chill with an eight hour old baby- such a good day. And it's crazy to think, were next!
Here's the cute family:

Cute! She looks like an O'Neill already!

My cousin's baby was born on Saturday too, so he and McKenna have the same birthday!

Are you getting excited for your extra long baby to come?

She really does look like an O'Neill! She's very cute. So why does it look John was the one that gave birth in that picture? :) Jed would lay in my bed at the hospital too! :)

I was thinking JUST what Laine said - that John looks awfully comfy in the hospital bed! :-) The bed is just so much more comfortable than the pull-out chairs that the husbands are supposed to sleep on, at least at St. Mary's! Congrats on becoming an aunt again. I can't believe you're next! How many more weeks? Five? Hang in there!

Hahaha, Laine, I was JUST about to say that- John totally looks like he is the one who gave birth and Kym is just visiting with Kaitlyn!

Hope your able to find some rest soon. Have you thought about changing your drinking pattern? I know you probably drink a lot of water. But I wonder if you plan to go to bed at 10, perhaps you could try not drinking after 7 or 8. Perhaps that will help your body deal with all the liquid. :) But if that doesn't work, yes, these little blessings are nice... blessings in disguise. I remember when I was preggo with Finn, that I would get up like clock work at midnight, 2:30 and again at 4:30, before I awoke again at 6:30 but held it until I got up at 7am!! :) Congrats on the new niece. How exciting that your baby and your niece will be so close in age!! Hugs and Blessings!
